Small wonders
This winter so far was like a ride on some swings – either it is freezing like hell, either it is all rainy/slushy/murky weather outside. After a couple of weeks of cold treatment, the last week was one of them mild ones, so by the weekend snow everywhere was either gone, or all gone black and yucky, so waking up on Sunday morning to a white winter fairy tale was a real eye candy. All the trees were covered in white robes, and the fresh snow on the ground was just this perfect type for making some good ol’ snowmen. I went for my usual weekend stroll to a nearby forest (I was feeling too much preoccupied with capturing all this beauty around me to call that a jogging session), and just as I was about to wrap it up I could not help myself and just had to built one of them myself. This is just the kind of winter I love, but I already wish for spring to come faster, and as birds in the forest sing more and more with everyday I take in this snowy perfection as just one last stretch on a way to a blossoming spring.

Days of Gold
Indian summer. For a week we were fortunate to enjoy a streak of really great weather with temperatures at day time rising as high as 19 C. The last of golden and crimson leaves paraded in front of one's eyes, calling to enjoy the rays of still bright sunshine, but reminding it would not last for long with every blow of the already cooling wind.
Together with colleagues at work we've hatched a plan to make the best of this almost summerish weather, and last Friday we've had a barbecue afternoon right outside our office building. Who could've thought that a small lot of grass could make such a nice place for BBQ party LOL.
Party muscles. On Saturday night we had a girls' night out. It's been a while since I last had such a crazy night in town literary visiting every single pub on our way until the three of us was were beat with tiredness and... of some happy-go-lucky liquid temptations ;)
Good all night long parties are usually always fun. Unfortunately, there is always a pay back time. For me it was Sunday. Did there really was one? Haven't even noticed it come and go. Clearly, I must've lost my party-all-night kind of muscles.

Re-post. September, 2011. Kairėnai Botanical Garden or Horses, a Hare, and Color Me Pretty
A joke about going for a horse ridding turned into flesh last weekend. Our choice for a trial ridding fell on Kairėnai botanical garden as it offered both the possibility to take a ridding lesson, and a nice afternoon in a beautiful place with lots of awesome and colorful plants.

Ridding was so much fun, that I'm eagerly waiting for yet another one. Hopefully sometime soon.

Re-post. June, 2011. Two Days In June. Anykščiai-Biržai-Rokiškis
So on 25th June the three of us from the original 'cast of 4 to 5' set off for our Aukštaitija tour. Originally the whole trip was planned for three days, so that there would be some places of interest to visit on each day, but we could still maintain this rather leisurous pace. Huh-uh, due to some force majeur factors we only departed at almost midday on Saturday, but still very determined to make only the very necessary changes to the route.
