Going Bollywood

Vilnius University Centre of Oriental Studies has organized this small Indian feature films festival to commemorate 20 years of establishment of Indo-Lithuanian diplomatic relationships.

Both, because a coordinator of this viewing is a good friend of mine, and because I love a Bollywood flare here and there, I've picked a few movies to see.
Yesterday's feature film I went to was an action packed spy themed movie 'Agent Vinod'. You have probably seen some James Bond movies and the like? Truth to be told, almost every fast paced action movie about spies would do for reference, when you talk of 'Agent Vinod', as Bollywood as always isn't too shy to copy paste some elements :) Well, this Bollywood one is so much alike to it's Hollywood/European counterparts that there would not be anything much significant to tell about the movie itself, if it weren't so much much more funnier. Well done Bollywood. I've had a blast of an evening, and can hardly remember a movie I've laughed out loud so much (in a positive way) lately. My only complaint about Bollywood movies is that they are too long - it's quite normal for them to be like 3 hours long, and after this long a movie one's bottom tells (ouch) ;) Maybe these movies should be watched the way they are screened in India - with a break, just like plays at theaters, huh?
If my plans do not change all of a sudden, I also try to watch a Bollywood-ian comedy '3 Idiots' on Thursday. I'm told it should be a really good one.

  1. Illuminati films? (:
Aprašymas - viliojantis, bet trailer - visai ne.
